In the heart of Öregrund in Uppsala County, just a stone’s throw from the harbor, you’ll find our hotel. Here you can enjoy views of the sparkling sea and breathe in the fresh sea air.
The building that is now Pensionat Ankargården was constructed as early as the 1800s. It was once part of the town’s city hotel. In recent years, we’ve renovated several of the rooms and added modern bathrooms. But don’t worry—the authentic charm remains. Here you can read more about our different room types.

Discover Öregrund
Öregrund is amazing all year round. The sea is just around the corner and nature is always close by. Did you know, for example, that Öregrund is one of Sweden’s best-preserved wooden towns? It’s also the only town on Sweden’s east coast where you can watch the sun set into the sea. There’s a lot to see and do here.
The Café Book
We’re featured in the book Café Uppland for our homemade pastries, and with the book in hand, you can find many of Uppland’s coziest cafés. Here you can see me together with the author, Ylva Tryselius.
Enjoy delicious baked goods by ironworks, rapids, Stone Age graves, bird lakes, and boatyards. Get inspired for new outings and discover some of Uppland’s most beautiful and interesting places. Visit archipelago cafés by swimming cliffs, garden cafés with art exhibitions, and city cafés along cobbled alleys. There’s something here for both body and soul. Every café in the book shares a recipe for one of their specialties.

What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in takes place between 15:00 and 17:00. If you or your party plan to arrive after 17:00, just let us know and we’ll make arrangements.
Check-out is at 11:00 on the day of departure.
Is there parking near your hotel in Öregrund?
Yes, there is free street parking around our hotel.
Are dogs allowed at the hotel?
Yes, as long as your dog doesn’t shed excessively, it is welcome here. The cost is 150 SEK extra per night. Dogs are not allowed on beds or other furniture and may not be left alone in the room.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel free of charge up to 7 days before arrival. For group bookings, earlier cancellation is required – the details are provided when you book your stay.
All cancellations must be made via email.
Where is Öregrund located?
Öregrund is a coastal town near the archipelago, located in northern Roslagen, in Östhammar Municipality, Uppsala County. Curious about how to get to Öregrund? Uppsala is about an hour away by car, and you can also take a bus, which takes about an hour and a half. If you’re arriving by plane, it takes around an hour and a half by car from Arlanda Airport.
